Painted in 1987, The Stamp Series reflects on the theory that the world has greatly relied on communicating by means of letter correspondence by means of stamps. The various stamps used by governments sets the value set forth in expediting correspondence to local and world countries.

In our day and age the "Stamp" has become a form of art between the consumer and professional stamp collectors. To most people, however, a stamp is just a standard commodity set forth by governments in order to make money. Many peoples don't notice the work involved in making stamps, nor do they realize the messages that stamps provide.

Liccione's "Stamp Series" ask us to look closely at stamps, to reflect on the beauty and message they convey.
