Painted during the late 1990's, the fragmented subject matter, portrayed, questions people's desires to alter their appearances by means of plastic surgery as a way of securing a "regenerated sense of youth" thereby, not realizing that there is an underlying factor of a false sense of security.
Unhappy with their appearances, young and old, people are mesmerized with the fashion-model advertisements and the Hollywood scene. Through plastic surgery they expect to have say for instances, a nose that resembles a famous screen star or favorite model.
Whatever the case, it becomes apparent that our culture has encompassed the need to seek out artificial means to enhance their appearances instead of embellishing their natural looks.
